Alot of great ideas for little ones。 Definitely some things I never thought to do。 We already painted rocks to use and decorate our garden

A fun and inspiring book for outdoor play! This book is designed for parents -- ideas on how to create a backyard mud kitchen, but also contains a number of play ideas and mud kitchen "recipes。" Some ideas go beyond the actual mud kitchen, like painting imagination stones or a bird feeder。 I will say several ideas seem unneccessary if you are the parent trying to direct your child's play in the mud kitchen 。。。 do you really need to instruct them on how to make mud "ice cream" or mud "sandwiches" A fun and inspiring book for outdoor play! This book is designed for parents -- ideas on how to create a backyard mud kitchen, but also contains a number of play ideas and mud kitchen "recipes。" Some ideas go beyond the actual mud kitchen, like painting imagination stones or a bird feeder。 I will say several ideas seem unneccessary if you are the parent trying to direct your child's play in the mud kitchen 。。。 do you really need to instruct them on how to make mud "ice cream" or mud "sandwiches"? I feel the beauty of a mud kitchen is that it is meant to be truly open-ended and imaginative。 Let the children play! Let them come up with the ideas。 I promise they will figure out better ideas than we adults can come up with。That said, there are some great ideas in here for the preschool-aged group like small worlds and arts and crafts that DO need a little extra adult planning, prep, and prodding。 Those activities are fun because they are done *together* with your child, not just because you did a cool idea you saw in a book。 All that to say: play in mud。 It's fun。 It's an opportunity for children to be imaginative。 If you need some extra ideas on how to go about doing this or maybe getting muddy isn't your ideal way to spend a day, this book is great for you!***Note: I was given a review copy of this book by Page Street Kids。 Opinions are my own。 。。。more
